The Oberoi Group has announced plans to open two new luxury resorts in Rishikesh—an 80-key Oberoi "Vilas" resort and a 120-room Trident resort—as part of its strategic expansion in India’s hospitality sector. Developed in partnership with the Ladhani Group, the properties will be set on a 60-acre site surrounded by the Ganges on three sides, blending nature, spirituality, and luxury. The resorts will be managed by EIH Ltd., the Oberoi Group’s parent company, and are in addition to the 19 properties previously announced in EIH’s long-term growth plan, which includes 16 hotels, two luxury boats, and a Nile cruiser set for completion by 2029.
Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, the resorts aim to offer a unique blend of world-class hospitality and local heritage. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with the Oberoi Vilas developed by Devprayag Ganges Resorts Pvt Ltd. and the Trident Resort by Jamuna Hotel Enterprises Pvt Ltd., both subsidiaries of The Ladhani Group. S.N. Ladhani, Chairman of Ladhani Group & SLMG Beverages Pvt Ltd., emphasized the project's commitment to preserving Rishikesh’s cultural and natural significance while delivering unparalleled guest experiences. Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman of The Oberoi Group, reaffirmed the company’s focus on expanding into premier destinations, while CEO Vikram Oberoi highlighted the brand’s mission to combine luxury, heritage, and personalized service in every new venture.
The announcement comes amid a post-COVID travel boom, with EIH reporting record Q3 financial performance, including Rs. 831 crore in consolidated revenue and Rs. 279 crore in profit after tax (PAT), a 21% year-on-year increase. Despite the temporary closure of The Oberoi Grand for restoration, the company has continued to see strong financial growth, further cementing its leadership in India’s luxury hospitality industry.
